Name/Handle: Ali Are you 18 or over?: And change. Character Info; Alter’s source work, author and character: Marvel comics (Iron Man) Pepper Potts Character Name: Pepper Potts Character Played By: Gwyneth Paltrow Character history and personality Pepper Potts would have you believe she’s an uncomplicated woman. There are no loose ends and no unsmoothed edges: she is sleek suits and smoothed chignons and the kind of perfume that cannot be caught in a boardroom, cannot be caught unless you’re close enough that perfume is the least of concerns. She would have you believe she does an uncomplicated job - that things are kept ticking like well-oiled and discreet clockwork in the background to allow Tony Stark to continue to play front and center, despite revealing exactly who Tony Stark can be to an international audience. But there is (as any good personal assistant, temporary CEO, private secretary and friend to a man who verges on a serious drinking problem and possesses an ego the size of his media coverage, would know) a great deal of complexity in the glossy surface-level perfection Pepper permits. She’s a clever woman, dry, sardonic and infinitely capable of running things - be it the instruction to a laundry service, handling HR complaints, or that stint as CEO of Stark Industries. She is a controlled woman and a patient one; the extent of her external expression of anger is stating herself as being so and is cerebral enough that this is all that is necessary. She manages - people, the small and necessary but dull details, the complication therein - but Pepper is distinct in knowing when to step back, hold up hands and permits chaos to reign with a wrinkle of the nose, knowing she’ll be called on to clean up later. She is exceptionally good at her job. Unfortunately, she permits that exceptional work to carry over and bleed through her personal life - answering work-calls on dates, allowing stress to escalate past the point of unruffled calm. Her worry over Stark’s attitude toward the suit, drinking and his own infallibility allows her to mask her own concern for him - albeit poorly. Pepper is strong, in the subtle fashion she takes to work each day and chooses words thoughtfully, preferring words to arguments. Journal/Key: Pepper's journal is a tablet, the kind of unobtrusive, sleek and incredibly high-end device that she runs her life (and Tony's) from, day-to-day. It slides between business and 'pleasure', capable of both tasks at once - and has a discreet 'Stark Industries' logo on the back. The key is a brushed metal key-card with a narrow chip and strip running vertically on the kind of chain suited to security passes. Her name is etched at the very top.
